Wonders of Waste
Team
Momentum from Waste will participate in the Wonders of Waste rally as a testcase
for the following Mongolia Charity Rally. The car and the reactor will be tested
extensively during the trip from Rotterdam to Rome. At 13 May 2010, several
teams will leave from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, to Rome, Italy. Just like in
the Mongolia Charity Rally the teams will drive their own defined route for
charity. The teams other than team Momentum from Waste will drive their car to
Rome on PURE waste vegetable oil, no transesterification whatsoever, they pour
the fat directly in the fuel tank of the car. Luckily, team Momentum from Waste
is allowed to produce biodiesel first.
Wonders of Waste is organised by The 7 Adventures. They have the same ideals as team Momentum from Waste namely helping charity and experiencing adventure in its purest form. All the adventures organised by The 7 Adventures start or finish at one of the wonders of the world. For example you can go to Petra in Jordan. In Rome we will finish at the Colosseum.
The rally will be held from 13-16 May 2010 and thus lasts 4 days, a perfect testtrip for team Momentum from Waste. With Wonders of Waste we collect money for Macha Works (de new name of the Privaserve Foundation). Macha Works supports small-scale development projects in rural Zambia. They encourage the talents of the concerning villages to take the development of their village into their own hands. The 7 Adventures supports the bio-diesel project of Macha Works. In Macha 5 km2 of land area is prepared for Jathropha plantations. This plantation can then, in 3 years time, yield enough bio-diesel for the energy need of the village.
